
Yasmeen is an undergraduate student in the School of Kinesiology at UBC, originally from Edmonton, Alberta. She previously worked at the Centre for Aging SMART in the Aging, Mobility and Cognitive Health Laboratory as well as at the Sickle Cell Foundation of Alberta. Yasmeen also founded the non-profit Youreka Vancouver chapter, focused on empowering youth in citizen science. Yasmeen joined IBL with the UBC Faculty of Medicine Summer Student Research Program, under supervision of Dr. Babak Shadgan.
